Finding DTD's in jar files

Hi guys, What if I have an xml file declared as this: <!DOCTYPE Requests PUBLIC "-//iPlanet//Sun ONE Identity Server 6.1 Admin CLI DTD//EN" "jar://com/iplanet/am/admin/cli/amAdmin.dtd" > I know which jar file the dtd is stored in. How do I configure Oxygen to find it there. Thanks a lot! Serge

calling templates in imported files (XSLT)

It is not a big deal, but when I call a template that is in an imported xsl file, Oxygen complains that the template does not exist. Is there a way to shut that warning off, or have it resolve templates in open files, project files or have it trace the imports for a multiple file transform?

Newbie question on XSLT - how to generate table columns dynamically

Hi, I am new to XSLT and have a question on how to dynamically generate columns in XSL style sheet that can be applied generic xml files that has the same document structure but with different number of columns and column names. The XML file is shown below. In this case, the number of columns is 3 and column names are the elements' name (e.g., COUNTRY_ID, COUNTRY_NAME and REGION_ID. MarkLogic XQuery validation

Dear SyncRO Soft, I configured Oxygen to validate XQuery with MarkLogic Server; however, I get "Validation support not available" -- problem duplicated on colleague's workstation. Details: 7.2 on 10.4.6 with Java 5 Very welcome feature, can't wait to use it. MarkLogic as a datasource for XQuery transformations seems to work great, so thanks! Hi, If you downloaded and installed the kit for linux(.sh file) then you should already have the corresponding shortcuts(.desktop files) in the oxygen install dir. You just have to copy them to your desktop and they should work. The file you are looking for is Oxygen XML Editor.desktop. Using Oxygen under Linux

Dear All, I'm currently using Oxygen 7.2 under Linux specifically, Ubuntu 6.06. Unfortunately I can't create a menu item, or a launcher on the desktop, that will start Oxygen correctly. For those unfamiliar with Ubuntu it uses Gnome as window manager by default. I can create the menu item, or launcher, and can confirm all of the paths are correct. Oxygen appears to start, I can see a process start and HDD activity, however no window is displayed and the process quickly stops. If I launch oxygen via a terminal window, inside gnome, everything works as expected. Does anyone have any thoughts? Validating multi-file XSL transformations with

I've just started playing with oXygen as an XML plug-in for Eclipse. So far, it seems great; however, I've got a large set of XSL stylesheets I'd like to work on, and unfortunately the built-in validation says that they're invalid. They do currently work, using Xalan as the XSL-processing engine, so I'm reluctant to change the structure radically. In a nutshell, here's what's happening; this is obviously a huge simplification, and in the real project I get a *zillion* similar warnings: ----- Main file ----- <xsl:transform> <xsl:include href="include/file1.xsl"/> <xsl:include href="include/file2.xsl"/> </xsl:transform> ----- End main file ----- ----- include/file1.xsl ----- <xsl:transform> <xsl:variable name="foo">abc</xsl:variable> </xsl:transform> ----- End of file1.xsl ----- ----- include/file2.xsl ----- <xsl:transform> <xsl:template match="root"> <root foo="{$foo}"/> </xsl:template> </xsl:transform> ----- End of file2.xsl ----- This successfully transforms the tiny document "<root/>" into "<root foo='abc'/>"; however, when I open include/file2.xsl in oXygen, I always get a warning that variable "foo" has not been initialised. [oXygen-user] Problem making new, or editing Transformation Scenario

Using the new 7.2 release Eclipse plugin, I have a problem adding new, or editing a Transformation Scenario. Either from the XML menu, or from the button bar, whether I click New, or select and click Edit, no dialog appears to edit the scenario. I also have the standalone version installed, and the problem does not happen there. I guess that implies that the problem may be in my Eclipse setup (although all was fine before I upgraded to 7.2), so, in case it's useful: Platform: Windows XP Eclipse: 3.1.0 Java: Sun 1.5.0 Thanks Nigel Harrison

[SVNClient] context icons in the browser

Any plans to add context icons, so that you can visually see the state of files? Two of my files display a question mark on the icon; not sure what that means. But a visual indicator as to state would be great.

[SVNClient] Show History oddity

I've added a working copy to the client. When I context-click and select Show History, I get a dialog telling me that the repository root can not be determined. I click O.K., and the history is shown. I can find no where to set the repository root for a Working copy.

This looks really interesting. Unfortunately, I can't use it. Most of my repositories are accessed via svn+ssh. However, when I enter this, oXygen insists that I enter auth credentials. This is silly. I use other things for ssh auth. How quickly can you correct this defect, and make auth optional in the setup?

RelaxNG validation without DTD-compatibility

Hello oxygen-user, I was looking through the oXygen preferences and could not see a way to perform RelaxNG validation in non-DTD-compatible mode. DTD-compatible mode is the default for Jing, but it cuts out a bunch of useful things that RelaxNG can do. Specifically, the SVG Tiny 1.2 RNG depends on these features for enabling xml:id support - if an element has just an id attribute, that attribute is of type ID; if it has just xml:id, that is of type ID;if it has both then xml:id is of type ID and id is not. On the command line, it would be Jing -i. How do I use Jing this way in oXygen? If its not possible, could it be added? I'm using the newly released oXygen 7.2. Hi Joshua, I receive a digest and read the mail using outlook. In my view the byte sequence EF BB BF precedeces the first character of your XML file. That is the BOM for UTF-8 (http://www.unicode.org/faq/utf_bom.html#BOM) and that content is correct XML (sec. 4.3.3 of XML Spec: ... entities encoded in UTF-8 MAY begin with the Byte Order Mark ... ) Usually Oxygen handles encoding very well, so maybe you use some other editor in your processing chain that is not that standard conform and adds another BOM. I had similar problems using Ultraedit. I'm trying to use Oxygen to edit MXML files (Macromedia Flex). Everything works fine except that this error always appears: content is not allowed in prolog. What's up with this? Here's the line it chokes on: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> This is the way all Flex files start and there don't seem to be any problems there. Help on XForms validation and auto-completion

First, my apologies: I know that this has been discussed elsewhere, and I know most of the pieces, but I can't seem to get the entire assembly working. I'm thus appealing for help. Here's my goal: I'm trying to author XHTML+XForms documents. I would like to validate them and preferably have autocompletion. At this stage, I'm not interested in custom XSD schemas in my XForms instances. I followed the help here: http://www.oxygenxml.com/pipermail/oxygen-user/2005-July/000518.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rng-users/message/432 ...and I have XHTML 2 validation/completion working. I *thought* that XHTML2 would give me XForms and XML Events. Alas, here's the xhtml2.rng snippet: <x:h2>XForms module</x:h2> <x:p>To-Do: work out integration of XForms</x:p>  So no dice. I then went on a day-long Google hunt, learning more about namespace routing languages etc. than I could possibly have wanted to know. I tried numerous iterations of numerous schemas for numerous specs. Next, I reviewed the oXygen mailing list archives and forum and found this: http://www.oxygenxml.com/forum/ftopic1769.html However, the example there didn't work for me. Meaning, I could put <xf:fake/> in my docs and it would still validate. I'd really be interested to hear that someone got XForms plus any flavor of XHTML working in oXygen. By working, I mean correct validation and autocompletion. I don't particularly care if it is XHTML 1 or 2, RNG or XSD or NRL, or what version of the spec is used. If anybody has a tarball containing an example document and the pile of schema docs it needed, I would be thrilled. All in all, either this stuff is hard or I'm pretty dumb. --Paul

Using UTF-8 encoding. The <i> tags persist at the chapter <xref> sections surrounding chapter text. Also <span class="trademark"/> appears in the map within the <ttl> element (just began using the trademark element in a section element). Lastly, when the aforementioned tags are deleted, the olinkdb.xml map validates on the Linux side and subsequent HTML transformations behave as expected. From the Windows side, validation complains “Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.” Again, this issue is probably best addressed on the oXygen list but any help would be appreciated. Controlling the style of generated schema documentation

Hi there, I was wondering if there is a place in the oxygen preferences, or a stylesheet, that is used when generating the schema documentation. I'd like to be able to change the default colors (for instance) used for the generated documentation. I noticed that there is CSS information in the head of the generated documentation, but I was wondering if I can change this for all documentation that I generate, without needed to resort to post- generation editing or scripting. assistance for associating an XML document with a stylesheet?

Hello, I was leading a course on XML, XSLT and related technologies a few weeks ago, and a question came up that has occurred to me sometimes: Oxygen offers automated assistance for associating an XML document with a DTD or Schema, inserting the appropriate declaration into the XML document. Can it do the same for associating an XML document with a stylesheet? E.g. I would like to insert <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="abc.xsl" ?> at the top of the document, but I have a hard time remembering the pseudo-attributes. One way to approach it would be, I type <? and press Ctrl+Space to get some suggested completions, like <?xml and <?xml-stylesheet When I choose xml-stylesheet, I would get suggested pseudoattributes "type" and "href" with appropriate values. Another approach is to enhance the Document / XML Document / Associate menu item to allow associating a stylesheet. Regards, Lars
