working with xincludes

Hi, I'm having problems with xincludes and docbook. Including an entire file with xinclude is successful, but using xpointer fails. Am I doing something wrong here? 6.0 beta Eclipse Plug in: Selects elements for no apparent reason

When editing XSLTs in Oxygen using the Eclipse plug-in it will select the element the cursor is in for no apparent reason. This is very annoying as it often happens just as I am entering a keystroke, which of course then wipes out my entire template (which I can get back but it disrupts my train of thought). Is this a bug in the beta or a setting I need to turn off somewhere? I haven't seen this behavior in the standalone version. Also, I noticed that ctrl+k (find next in Eclipse's default key binding) does not work in the Oxygen editors--I think it should. Cheers, E. -- W. Hi all, Feature request: When you go to the Configure Transformation Scenario dialog, then click on New, you have various ways to specify the XSL URL: Browse for local input XSL file, etc. The way that is not offered, which would be useful, would be to select an XSL file that is currently open in one of Oxygen's editing buffers. oXygen beta 6 Visual Relax NG editor chokes on large schemas

Probably a mistake, but the first document I opened with oXygen 6 beta was the Relax NG schema for the OASIS OpenDocument format: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/11680/office-schema-1.0-c… That is a long (530KB) and complex schema, and on my system it made oXygen freeze for all practical purposes--extremely long wait times for screen rewrites, etc. (I'm running the standalone Mac OS X version on a dual G4 867MHz PowerMac). Is this something that optimization can help with before the final release? If not, is there a way to turn off the visual schema editor in the Preferences so that it won't start when a file is loaded? Beta 6

Hi, Great job on beta 6. Just been playing with it a bit today. Especially interested in the comparison tools. Now the only thing missing is diff against a vcs. One quick way to implement this may be to work as a front end to cvs, svn, tla or baz. I think it would be safe to assume that any person wanting to make diffs would have one or more of these applications installed. It should therefor be possible to enable an Oxygen user to create a diff against the repository and view it before doing a commit. The next step from this is to implement the ability for a user to view patches, merge them and then commit them. What do you think? Feedback on oXygen V6 Beta

I'm in the middle of a project where we are developing XSLT 2 transforms and using complex XSD schemas, so the new features in V6 were quite welcome (we had been using Turbo XML for Schema viewing by oXygen for XSLT and schema editing--we get Turbo for free with our licenses of Epic Editor). I like the schema viewer but there are a few things that I think would make it more effective to work with (in rough order of priority) (this is for the full model view--I haven't fully explored the logical view, but it might address some of my comments below): 1. Ability to control collapsing of entire tree, e.g. "collapse children/expand children). When you're dealing with a large schema with lots of top-level elements and types and you want to focus on just one part it's tedious to collapse everything. It would probably help to also have the default be to have all the children of the root initially collapsed. Epic Editor's XML tree view has a neat feature that I've never seen anywhere else: if you triple click on a tree item it will collapse the children of that item--this makes it really quick to collapse a long list of children. 2. Option to view just the element/type hierarchy without all the details of reference, refinement, extension, etc. As it is, it can be a little difficult to navigate down through a hierarchy of element types because the tree can get pretty wide, so there's a lot of scrolling, especially if you've used long names for types (as I tend to do). One of the nice things about Turbo's view is that it is pretty quick to navigate down the tree. 3. Provide a "where used" view, that is, when you click on an element type, show what other element or type contexts it's allowed in, from which you can navigate to those types. 4. In the logcal model view, also synchronize with the source, including providing the option to open the containing XSD file if it's not already open. Things I really like: - The list of types, elements, and groups. Very handy for getting a view over how the schema is organized from a coding standpoint. - The synchronization of the tree view with the markup view. Really handy. Will save much time now spent doing searches for specific entries in the schema. - The showing of enumerations for element content. - For the logical model view, the grouping of types by their namespace. FOP and image width

Hi, Thanks for all your assistance so far - its all part of the learning curve... I'm trying to ensure there are no content overflows when creating PDFs so that my memory usage problems don't return as my document increases in size. This means I am trying to create images of the correct size and specify their sizes in my xml/xsl files. I would like to have some of my images at page width, and others within the flow on indented text. My body text is set by: <xsl:param name="body.start.indent" select="'5.9cm'"/> All my tables are appearing as full page width (which is a different problem to be solved), but all my images are contained within the indented text region, approximately 9.7cm. This is too small for my entity relationship diagrams so I would like them to be at the full page width. I've followed the instructions at http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/ImageSizing.html without success. Am I being too ambitious for FOP 0.20.5 or am I doing things the wrong way? I increased the page file size on my WinXP laptop and then set the memory available to the built-in FOP in <oXygen /> to 1000MB => success http://xml.apache.org/fop/running.html#memory describes a few things that may help others with the same problem. Hi, After trying to find any errors with my xml files that have been giving me validation problems, I have now discovered that oXygen is refusing to transform any of my documents to PDF - even when the documents are valid. The error message is: E|The process ended wide code : 1 The error was : Exception in thread "main" Transformation to html is successful. I have JAI installed for FOP recognition of .PNG files (installed several weeks ago). oXygen 5.1 Apache Xerces-J 2.6.2 Apache Xalan Java 2.5.1 SAXON_6 6.5.3 SAXON_8B 8.1.1 Apache FOP 0.20.5 Jing 20030619 Trang 20030619 Apache NekoHTML 0.9.4 OASIS DocBook XML DTD 4.3 DocBook XSL 1.67.2 TEI DTD P4 TEI XSL 2.1 Any clues on what I can do here? TOC with XInclude

I'm trying to do a simple book where each chapter is it's own file. I then have another file that us xinclude to include the chapters. The problem is, when I transform, each chapter is given its own Table of Contents section. Any idea why this is happening?

Error with DocBook XInclude

Hello. When I simply transform the existing DocBook XInclude example wit DocBook HTML I get the following error three times in Oxygen W No template matches xi:include in article. null and the output to my browser looks like Table of Contents Welcome to the Docbook Welcome to the Docbook <xi:include></xi:include><xi:include></xi:include><xi:include></xi: include> Am I missing something?
