date time format when importing from Excel

Hi, I am using oXygen's very useful import tool to convert some data in a spreadsheet to XML. In the spreadsheet there are several fields which contain a date/time. When I import these fields they come out in the format <date>Fri Dec 06 00:00:00 GMT 2002</date> no matter what format I use in the source document. It seems to me that oXygen is correctly recognising that these are dates but then putting them into a format which I don't recognise. Really I want them to be ISO 8601 (YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss.sss). I have tried defining this as a custom format in the spreadsheet but it is still coming out as shown when I run the import. Is there some way I can specify the format I want in oXygen? doesn't work: Configurable Initial Directory of the File Open Dialog

Hello, In Oxygen 8.0, build 2006111719, on Windows XP, I went to the Options / Preferences dialog, and for "File chooser dialog opens in" I selected "Directory of the edited file". I clicked OK. Then I clicked on one of the editor tabs to select an open file. I typed Ctrl+O to open the Open File dialog. Expected result: the open file dialog would open in the directory of the edited file. Actual result: it opened in a completely different directory, possibly that of the last opened file. Postscript: later, having restarted Oxygen, I tried this again, and this time it worked as expected. Maybe you have to restart Oxygen after changing the setting? Lars

Diagram View Doesn't load with 8.0

This worked fine (and still does when I revert back to 7.2) before 8.0. Yes, I have it enabled in the preferences. Anyone else see this? Thanks! -Eric

It helped me hunt down and correct (via a customization layer) a problem with the DocBook stylesheets mixing the caption content of a DocBook 5 CALS table with its title text in HTML and FO output. rc8 and Berkeley XML DB

Context: Berkeley DB connection. I have a collection. In this collection I have two types of files: 1) having a normal name such as "a1.xml" 2) having a URI as name, example "http://www.pcce.be/egb/artefact#KF.objecten.111 <https://office.amplexor.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.pcce.be/eg…>" Trying to open files of type 2 (right-click in the database explorer) leads to an i/o error message. Errors using Oxygen 8.0RC1 with eXist in Eclipse

Hello, I am getting a few errors when trying to test the new RC of oXygen in Eclipse. I've tested this on both my development install of Eclipse and eXist under Ubuntu Edgy Eft, and with a fresh install of Eclipse/eXist under Windows XP. When I try to configure an eXist db in the Oxygen DB perspective, I get "ERROR: org/apache/commons/httpclient/HttpClient" I don't always get this error. I've been able to get the listing of collections from time to time. I tested this with the standalone Oxygen after I was able to get the listing under XP, because I didn't realize at the time that Oxygen refuses to open any file that's not *.xml (very annoying btw) I was able to open and save /db/system/users.xml, but when I went back into Eclipse to see if I could open that file, I saw the same httpclient error that I originally saw on Ubuntu. When I first tried to upgrade from the 7.2 plugin to the 8.0RC1 plugin under Ubuntu (with other existing plugins) I started getting errors that the view could not be displayed, and that I should check the log. I'm not quite sure where this log would be, but I found a few messages related to Oxygen in ~/workspace/.metadata/.log as well as some more recent ones related to Aptana. I'm not sure if it's a conflict with Aptana and Oxygen, or if Aptana was just screwing up on it's own. I removed Aptana and a few (but not all) of the errors went away. I also removed all Oxygen plugins and re-installed, which took care of a few more errors. On a few occasions, I got notification that the resource was locked, and was asked if it should try to re-lock it. This may or may not be because all during this time I was running eXist from within Tomcat from within Eclipse. I ended up re-starting many times and the server didn't always get shut down properly every time. This was why I decided to reboot and try it under XP with fresh everything. (Eclipse, workspace, Oxygen plugin, eXist 1.1.1 running under jetty) I'm using the latest JDK in all instances. Are these bugs with Oxygen, or am I doing things wrong? Does it screw it up if you try to include jars in addition to the 3 required? What if they're named differently? Thank you for making a great editor. I hope these issues can be resolved. Daniel E. Problem switching from trial key to commercial key in diff files program

Hi all, approximately a month ago I installed oXygen 7.2 and acquired a trial license. When the trial period neared its end a counter indicating the days left began to show up at start up. I purchased a professional license and pasted the key at the appropriate place. Everything went fine. The counter ceased to show. Only when starting the (definitely second to nothing) diff files program standalone the counter would still appear indicating the days left on the trial license. I looked for a way to tell the diff files program about my newly acquired license key, but there seemed to be no way to do that. A reinstall didn't help either as the uninstall procedure does not seem to purge license keys. I decided to wait what would happen when the trial license would finally expire which happened today. The diff files program told me that the trial period was over and gave me the opportunity to paste my key. So in the end everything turned to good account but I don't think that's the way it should work. I thought I'd let you know so other users can be spared the experience. And if anyone knows advice on how to reliably purge a (trial) license key without formatting the hard disk I'd gratefully take it. Best regards. Paul
