problem with xlink in METS files

Hi there, I am having a strange problem with editing / validating METS instances. Using the schema from http://www.loc.gov/standards/mets/mets.xsd (which imports xlink.xsd at the same location), I am editing a file with the following root: <mets xmlns="http://www.loc.gov/METS/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.loc.gov/METS/ file:mets.xsd" xmlns:gdm="http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/GDM/" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/TR/xlink"> </mets> i.e. I am defining a NS prefix xlink for the xlink namespace. Nevertheless, when I place attributes from this namespace on elements (e.g. on Flocat), oXygen claims they are not valid there and instead offers the very same attributes, but with namespace prefixes like ns1, ns2 etc. This seems to be wrong, but I am at a loss how to fix this. Is this a bug in oXygen or am I doing something wrong? Any help appreciated, Christian Wittern -- Christian Wittern, Kyoto

Generating an instance from schema

Hi, I have a schema that imports another. The imported schema includes the definition of an element that is valid as the document element of a conforming XML instance. However Oxygen only offers elements defined in the importing schema as candidate document elements both when creating a new document for editing, or when generating a sample XML instance. Is this something that will be catered for in a future release? All the best Mark

ant docbook

I was using oXygen to take a look at the ant-build-docbook.xml file from the DocBook Ant distribution. http://www.cs.put.poznan.pl/dweiss/site/projects/ant-docbook-styler/downloa… oXygen is telling me that <available> can't be a child of <and> inside <condition>. Hello Allan, I don't have an Ubuntu box right now for testing but it works on Suse Linux. I think Ubuntu comes with a GNU Java virtual machine. Can you check that <oXygen/> runs with a Sun Microsystems JVM in Help -> About -> System properties -> java.vm.vendor ? Also you should try with a different JVM version, for example if you are using Java 1.5.0 you should try with Java 1.4.2. Hello, I'm using Oxygen on Linux and while I quite like it, I find it quite annoying that it doesn't support the standard Unix/Linux clipboard (in which selected text is automatically copied to that clipboard). Is there any way that I can configure this to work? where is the component versions list?

I've seen it before, but even though I spent a long time Googling (including Googling my search history), I can't find it again. It has a series of "blue" tables that show the version of each application that is included with oXygen. Particularly, I would like to know the FOP version.
