xquery results in utf-8 charset

Hello, Sorry, I am new in that list (and in oxygen, too). May be, my question already was discussed earlier. I have tried oxygen 8 on two pcs both with win2k SP4. Among other things I tested some queries against a Berkeley xml db 2. 3. 8 database containing utf-8 contents. So far so well. But the results are shown right in utf-8 charset on the first pc but as little squares on the other. I wonder at the cause of this difference. Is there a configuration option ? Is something different in the win2k environment ? What could it be? May be this a wellknown simple problem. Does somebody know the solution? Regards, Roland

wrong conjunction for multiple pattern facets?

[This may be a FAQ, in which case I apologize in advance. I have searched the list archives, but not the forums, for postings related to this issue.] It seems that oXygen's XML validator does not know how to properly apply multiple 'pattern' facets when validating against a RelaxNG grammar. To my knowledge, multiple occurrences of a 'pattern' facet are allowed on xsd: datatypes; the content in the instance should match all of the patterns specified in order to be considered valid. When several <param> elements are included, all the constraints must be met (in other words, the result is a logical "and" of all the conditions). Also note that the same facet can't be repeated twice except for the facet named 'pattern'. -- van der Vlist, Eric. _RELAX_NG_, Ch 8 sect. "Facets", p. 93 However, oXygen's internal validator (xerces, right?) seems to use "or" instead of "and". I expect line 4 to be valid. I ran xmllint, jing, and rnv on the command-line, and they all flag lines 5 & 6 as invalid (i.e., they agree with me.) I don't know how to run xerces from the command-line. (Feel free to tell me ... :-) But oXygen says t.xml is valid (both the "live" validation that occurs while I type and the "static" validation that occurs with CMD-shift-V say it is valid).

improper completion when co-occurrence constraint

First, in case my disappointment at not being able to use oXygen as I'd like with co-occurrence constraints shows, let me say up front that I am very fond of oXygen, and will continue using it even if the following problem can't be fixed / worked around / made to go away by straightening this user out. Now, my problem. Given the following valid RelaxNG schema: --------- begin cocTest.rnc --------- start = element test { element thing { attribute n { "1" }, ("One" | "First") }, element thing { attribute n { "2" }, ("Two" | "Second") } } --------- end cocTest.rnc --------- oXygen does not perform completion properly. E.g., the pop-up list of values for the second <thing> has "One" and "First". (Validation ala cmd-shift-V does validate properly.) Sniff!

formating and indenting "long" elements

Sometimes, when using the format + indent element on a <para>, oXygen will indent the XML as follows: blah blah blah <olink targetdoc="self" targetptr="Engineering_Optimization_Main_Code" /> blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah I'd prefer: blah blah blah <olink targetdoc="self" targetptr="Engineering_Optimization_Main_Code"/> blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Is it possible to instruct oXygen to do what I prefer? -- http://chris.chiasson.name/

literallayout and indent on paste

>From the title, I am sure you already know what I am going to say... "Indent on paste" ruins my day when pasting inside DocBook literallayout elements. hi is there any chance to easely teach oxygen-xml a new syntax like 'framescript' to support source code writing in that language? i'm thinking at color marking, probably syntax checking. regards frank

Hello Robert, The format of the date in the result of the import operation is the format used by java.util.Date.toString(): dow mon dd hh:mm:ss zzz yyyy (day-of-week month day-of-month hour:minute:second timezone year) If you need an ISO 8601 format I think you can ignore the first token (dow) and rearrange the rest of the tokens. Also you need a mapping from the java.util.Date style of the timezone (GMT, PST, etc) to the ISO 8601 one (-01:00, -10:00, etc). date time format when importing from Excel

Hi, I am using oXygen's very useful import tool to convert some data in a spreadsheet to XML. In the spreadsheet there are several fields which contain a date/time. When I import these fields they come out in the format <date>Fri Dec 06 00:00:00 GMT 2002</date> no matter what format I use in the source document. It seems to me that oXygen is correctly recognising that these are dates but then putting them into a format which I don't recognise. Really I want them to be ISO 8601 (YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss.sss). I have tried defining this as a custom format in the spreadsheet but it is still coming out as shown when I run the import. Is there some way I can specify the format I want in oXygen? doesn't work: Configurable Initial Directory of the File Open Dialog

Hello, In Oxygen 8.0, build 2006111719, on Windows XP, I went to the Options / Preferences dialog, and for "File chooser dialog opens in" I selected "Directory of the edited file". I clicked OK. Then I clicked on one of the editor tabs to select an open file. I typed Ctrl+O to open the Open File dialog. Expected result: the open file dialog would open in the directory of the edited file. Actual result: it opened in a completely different directory, possibly that of the last opened file. Postscript: later, having restarted Oxygen, I tried this again, and this time it worked as expected. Maybe you have to restart Oxygen after changing the setting? Lars
