Why does the Spell Checker start to work without my asking for anything?

Dear oXygen support team, what can I do to disable the automatic spelling correction which results in my typing "a, i, " and seeing oXygen changing it to "a, I, " as soon as I type the comma I can read in the following page https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/20.1/ug-editor/topics/spell-check-as… that > Oxygen XML Editor includes an option to automatically check the spelling as you type. Not only does it check spelling when you are typing in the main editor, but also when you are typing in a comment. This feature is disabled by default, but it can be enabled and configured in the Spell Check preferences page. If "This feature is disabled by default", why does it happen when I am sure I never asked for it. Thanks for your help. This is really getting on my nerves. -- Jean-Luc Chevillard

oXygen attribute dropdowns and Dynamic value lists from TEI generated schemas

Hi there, In TEI, as many of you know, we write our schemas in the TEI ODD customisation language and generate schemas in formats such as like Relax NG, etc. but my question, I think, is really about the way oXygen interprets Relax NG in providing its helpful dropdown menus, etc. In oXygen when we have an attribute value that has a data type of anyURI oXygen helpfully pops up a list of potential values based on listing all the @xml:id's in the document. The problem, as I'm sure many have encountered, is that lists all the @xml:id's not those that might make suitable values for this attribute. Is there a way in the generated Relax NG to somehow specify that the values are any of the descendant @xml:id's from a particular XPath within the document (or indeed another document)? For a use-case what I'm interested in doing in TEI is, for a particular element customise the allowed values of the @ana attribute (which takes multiple whitespace-separated anyURI datatype values). We often use this attribute in TEI to point to a number of other elements including a taxonomy of arbitrarily-deeply nested categories in the document instance (or shared commonly between a number of document instances.) For example: === <taxonomy> <category xml:id="MSmaterials"> <catDesc>A list of Manuscript Materials</catDesc> <category xml:id="paper"> <catDesc>Paper</catDesc> </category> <category xml:id="parchment"> <catDesc>Parchment</catDesc> </category> </category> <category xml:id="occupations"> <catDesc>A list of occupations</catDesc> <category xml:id="tinker"> <catDesc>A tinker</catDesc> </category> <category xml:id="tailor"> <catDesc>A tailor</catDesc> </category> <category xml:id="soldier"> <catDesc>A soldier</catDesc> </category> <category xml:id="spy"> <catDesc>A spy</catDesc> </category> </category> </taxonomy> === Here we have two categories (MSmaterials and occupations) with a variety of sub-categories, but that could go many levels down. When adding the @ana attribute in oXygen the drop down would give us all of these @xml:ids and all those elsewhere in the document. Is there a way manually, or semi-automatically, in the Relax NG to signal to oXygen that for elementX/@attributeY the drop-down menu in the XML Editor should only provide @xml:ids from within descendants a particular element (e.g. //category[@xml:id='occupations']) In the TEI ODD customisation file, I could, of course, limit it to specific values.... and generate Relax NG from that. We'd do that with something like the following (embedded in an elementSpec: === <attDef ident="ana" mode="change"> <valList mode="add" type="closed"> <valItem ident="#tinker"> <desc>A tinker</desc> </valItem> <valItem ident="#tailor"> <desc>A tailor</desc> </valItem> <valItem ident="#soldier"> <desc>A soldier</desc> </valItem> <valItem ident="#spy"> <desc>A spy</desc> </valItem> </valList> </attDef> === Which when transformed to a closed value list in Relax NG would mean that I could choose '#tinker', '#tailor', '#soldier', '#spy' - giving hard-coded strings that then function as URI fragments. But of course neglects that the attribute can take multiple values in any order. Someone can reasonably be both a spy and soldier. I suppose I could on regenerating the schema, have the processing look up this <taxonomy> and pull out all the values, and automatically hard-code them in all possible particular orders, but that, I hope you agree, seems silly and of course doesn't scale. Also it has the problem of needing to regenerate the schema every time a new category is added. I could do this with Schematron, I suppose, i.e. stick in a Schematron rule that says for elementX/attributeY look up the values in doc('taxonomy.xml')//category[@xml:id='occuptaions'], or something. But while that might help with validation, I don't believe oXygen will pick that up for the dropdown menu. I have a very vague memory of someone looking working on an extension to oXygen which did something like this (though I think externally from the schema). If someone remembers the project I'm forgetting, please do let me know. If there was a way to signal to oXygen from Relax NG the XPath which to use to produce the dropdown list, then I can see us adding something that would produce that signal to TEI ODD processing, and lots of projects using it. Is this something that is already available, feasible, or completely ridiculous? Thanks for any thoughts. James Cummings

Subfigure numbering with docbook 5

The Docbook definitive Guide does not mention subfigures. The Docbook xsl complete Guide does not either. I have a figure too large that the text can only be read by magnifying glass. So I wand two parts of it on two pages. But I cannot see how to number it correctly Fig. 1a and Fig. 1b. Can please point me in correct direction? The paper size to be is Din A4 (210 x 297mm) but the doc has 215.9 x 279.4 mm.

Hi, while transforming the indicated paper size is A4 but the document produced is (errorneously) something else. The paper-type in the parameters is also "a4". Something is fishy. Issues with generating IDs

Hi, I'm trying to customize rules for generating IDs for custom framework that is inherited from default DocBook framework. I have followed instructions at: https://www.oxygenxml.com/doc/versions/20.1/ug-editor/topics/generate-ids.h… But it seems that settings stored in ${framework}/resources/idGenerationDefaultOptions.xml are being ignored. It seems that settings for "master" framework (DocBook in this case) are still being used instead. Have I missed something? Annoying IDref error since the xml:id exists in another include.

I have an masterfile and several include. While validating the masterfile works withour error and the crossreferencing is successful, I have an annoying error indicator "IDREF "MArubi" without matching ID". This xml:id is in a different include from the one where it is called. As the masterfile is enabled, I started wondering why this crossref is not found even when validating the include separately. Obviously a but in oxygen Version 20.1 for I cannot recall such an error with older versions. I can provide examples if the error is not yet reported. ro.sync.ecss.extensions.docbook.table.InsertTableOperation in Web Author

Hi, I'm creating DocBook customization for work in Web Author. Customized schema allows only informatables in HTML syntax. I have modified original insert.table action from DocBook framework in the following way: Activation XPath: oxy:allows-child-element("*:informaltable") Default table model: html This works fine in standalone Author, but user has to untick "Title" in order to insert informaltable instead of table with title. However when I deploy the same framework to Web Author insert.table action is not doing anything. If I try to invoke it in the wrong location I'm getting proper warning "The action ... is not available in the current location". But when I position caret to proper location and press table button nothing happens. Are there any Web Author limitations for ro.sync.ecss.extensions.docbook.table.InsertTableOperation operation that are causing this behaviour? Before I customized activation XPath and default table model button was invoking table creation dialog. But now nothing happens. Dragging PDF images into a DITA topic: use image element instead of xref?

Hi group I have my images (vector graphics) in PDF format. When I select an image in Windows Explorer and drag it into a DITA topic, I see that an xref to this pdf file is created, as shown in the example below: <xref href="Graphics/ce.pdf" format="pdf"/> Instead, I want to have an image element like this: <image href="Graphics/ce.pdf" id="image_b3d_gwd_nfb"/> This is oXygen's behaviour when I drag other graphic file formats (for example EPS, JPG, PNG) into my editor. Is there also a way to do this with images in PDF format? Thanks Yves

Validation faulty

I have some tables. While validation works for one with a similar construct, the other table appears faulty This works: <simplesect> <title/> <table> <title>Rote Liste</title> <tgroup cols="4" align="center"> ... and this does not work: <para>Mit den eigentlichen Bläulingen (Bl) wird die Sache schwieriger. <table frame="void"> <title>Bläuling noch nicht fotografiert</title> <?dbfo keep-together="always" ?> <tgroup cols="4" align="left"> <colspec colname="c1" colnum="1" colwidth="109.2pt"/> ... can you please explain. I have this error regularily that a table should have a caption and not a title. Version of Saxon used for Schematron validation in Web Author

Hi, I'm trying to use Schematron for additional validation in Web Author. My Schematron uses functions supported only in Saxon-PE/EE, namely file:exists(). This works in a standalone Author, but in a Web Author I'm getting the following error message: Errors were reported during stylesheet compilation Cannot find a 1-argument function named {http://expath.org/ns/file}exists() This suggests that Web Author is using Saxon-HE that is not supporting such extension functions. Could this be changed somewhere in Web Author configuration? I've read documentation but I haven't noticed such possibility. Differences in CSS counters between Author and Web Author

Hi, I'm creating customized CSS stylesheet for DocBook based vocabulary. In Author I need to prepend Figure X.Y label before each figure title. Where X is chapter number and Y is number of figure inside chapter. I'm doing this by providing additional styleheet in framework that is extending DocBook framework: figure > title:before { content: "Figure " counter(chapter_count) "." counter(figure) " "; } figure { counter-increment: figure; } chapter > title:before { counter-reset: figure sect1_count; } This works as expected in desktop Author. However in Web Author figure number is being reset for each section, so for example for document like <chapter> ... <section> ... <figure>  ... </section> <section> ... <figure>  ... </section> </chapter> Web Author labels both figures as 1.1. I have briefly looked into HTML/CSS code of Web Author and it seems that you are somehow preprocessing Author CSS stylesheet for browser and this particular case is not handled properly. Location of XSpec framework

Hello, I use oXygen 20.1, with XSpec add-on. I try to modify framework to test XSpec enhancements in oXygen. It seems the framework is at two different locations (I use a MacBook Pro) : * /Users/<me>/Library/Preferences/com.oxygenxml.developer/extensions/v20.1/frameworks/https___raw.githubusercontent.com_xspec_oXygen_XML_editor_xspec_support_master_build_update_site.xml/xspec.support-1.0.1 * /Applications/Oxygen XML Developer/frameworks/xspec Am I correct ? Error when transforming

Pagenumbers in crossref with my own style

Problem with Masterfile

Hi, I have with a essentially five files, one master and four chapters, organized within a project where the support for masterfile is checked. However, transforming from a chap_file does not transform the whole booklet but only the chapter chosen. Is this a bug of Oxygen 20.1 or am I missing some steps? Filetypes in Oxygen

Hi everybody, I am starting to use oXygen (20.1) with eXist-db (5.0RC4). I set up the datasource and can read and write to the database. When writing a new XQuery file, oXygen suggests .xquery as the file type extension and works fine with it. However, I am used to use .xq and .xqm for XQuery files. However, when I want to save such a file, oXygen refuses to save and shows the following errors: Cannot save the file: API error: Failed to invoke method uploadCompressed in class org.exist.xmlrpc.RpcConnection: Not in GZIP format This puzzles me and makes me think that somehow oXygen does not know about these file types, although they are indeed listed in Preferences->Filetype and associated with XQuery. Does anybody know what is going wrong here? Any help appreciated, Christian
