XProc/Oxygen/Validation

My XProc pipeline is failing because Xproc is validating the input file. The input files have both public identifiers and system identifiers (which don't point to the correct location). I am using an XML catalog within Oxygen that points to correct location of the DTD and validates within Oxygen. Is there a way to tell XProc or Calabash to look at the catalog.xml file? Another option would be to tell XProc or Calabash don't validate the input file. TIA! prevent multiple instances on OS X

I'm launching oXygen 11.2 via a JavaScript in a web UI which calls /Applications/oXygen/oxygenMac.sh I've added the line -Dcom.oxygenxml.MultipleInstances=false \ to oxygenMac.sh, and have also added "-Dcom.oxygenxml.MultipleInstances=false" to VMOptions in /Applications/oXygen/Oxygen.app/Contents/Info.plist But even with these properties specified, I'm getting multiple instances of oXygen each time I open a file via the web UI. Details: - oXygen 11.2 - OS X 10.6.5 - JRE 1.6.0_22 Any ideas on how to fix this? TIA, Bob

Resizable XPath toolbar entry field?

I often want to compose a relatively long XPath search in the XPath toolbar without taking the time to open the XPath Builder window. I have a wide screen and would be happy if the XPath toolbar entry field were twice as wide as it is. Is there any way to resize it? If not, I would suggest as a feature request that the form should be resizable. prevent multiple instances on OS X

I've read a couple of postings here about adding the property -Dcom.oxygenxml.MultipleInstances=false to the Java command line in the oxygen launch sh script. I've added that property to my environment, but I'm still getting multiple instances when launching via the sh. Is there something different that must be done on OS X versus Linux (which is the OS discussed in the threads I've seen)? more details: oXygen 12, OS X 10.6.5, JRE 1.6.0_22 TIA, Bob

Dear oXygen Users, Apple recently announced that future versions of Mac OS X may no longer include a Java runtime: <http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#releasenotes/Java/JavaSnowLeopardUp…> Any idea what that will mean for the future of Java-based apps like oXygen? Will a Mac version of oXygen bring its own JRE, or will we need to download one from somewhere else to run oXygen? I know it's a long way off, but just curious what this announcement will mean... Hi, Actually Oxygen's content completion of XPath in XSLT 2.0 does include the functions and axes of XPath 2.0. Make sure they are all enabled in Options -> Preferences -> Editor -> Content Completion -> XPath. It's also possible that you've found a context that we did not cover, or maybe a bug. Could provide a sample XSLT where this fails to work as expected? Bug in regular expression negative lookbehind?

Platform: oXgen 12.0, build 2010100114 OS X 10.6.4, standalone Java version Problem: Given this text: It is very cooooooold today. The regular expression search (?<!o)o should match only two 'o's, the one after 'c' and the one after 't' (the regex says "match any o not preceded by 'o'"). Correct? When I try it, the search matches every 'o'. Positive lookbehind, and lookahead searches, seem to be okay but I have not tested very much. Selecting/Creating oXygen editor windows

Hello, I have recently been developing a standalone oXygen 12.0 workspace plugin that produces an XML document containing oXygen's track-change processing instructions. Currently this plugin can write its results either to an existing editor or to a file. In the latter case the file is opened in an oXygen editor once it has been written. In the former case, the editor is correctly updated but not selected as the current editor. Is there a way of selecting this output editor as the current editor from within the plugin? I would also like to allow the user to send the output to a "new" freshly constructed editor window with an appropriate "untitled #number" name, where the action of "saving" the document would prompt the user for the location to save the file in. There may be cases where the user just wants to view the result, rather than save it to a file. We generally know the type of document that is being generated (e.g. DITA, DocBook, general XML) so could supply this to the oXygen editor creation API, if this is helpful. Any pointers on how this - or something similar - could be achieved would be welcome. I am new to the oXygen plugin development and this mailing list; and have done my best to search both the API and archive for answers to the issues I have just raised. Plugin access to frameworks and catalogs

Hello, We're developing a workspace plugin which reads form either existing editors or on-disk files. We're using all the catalogs in the standard 12.0 release using this rather brute-force approach: <configProperty name="cat_dita" value="${install.dir}/../../../frameworks/dita/catalog.xml" /> <configProperty name="cat_docbook" value="${install.dir}/../../../frameworks/docbook/catalog.xml" /> ... <configProperty name="cat_xmlspec" value="${install.dir}/../../../frameworks/xmlspec/catalog.xml" /> <configProperty name="xml.catalog.files" value="${cat_dita};${cat_docbook};...${cat_xmlspec}" /> However, we dont know about any user defined frameworks. Is there a way of knowing the framework associations of editors/files so that we could use the specific catalog file (also reducing the possibility of conflicts between the catalogs). Alternatively access to a URI/Entity resolver appropriate for the type of file which we could use when parsing (xerces) may be useful. We know about XMLUtilAccess and its resolvePathThroughCatalogs method, but we'd like something we can use with the resolver/xerces directly. We've also seen some references to a 'grammarCache' object but are unsure how to use it. Is there something we can use to improve our catalog handling. Can't uninstall/reinstall Eclipse plugin

I need to reinstall Oxygen Author 12, in Eclipse 3.5.2 on Ubuntu 10.4. I have completely cleaned any traces of Oxygen from my Eclipse installation --a file search reveals no files with any form of the string "oxygen" anywhere in the file system. I have restarted Eclipse with the -clean option. No Oxygen-related options or settings are available anywhere in the Eclipse UI. However, when I try to use Help > Install New Software to install Oxygen, Eclipse refuses on the grounds that Oxygen is already installed. What am I doing wrong? -- Ted Kuster help.collab.net

Hi, please consider giving the user the option to hide the Text/Grid/Author controls to increase available space to the editor. I often use a tiny screen on a notebook and have configured a minimal layout--no toolbars or panels whatsoever--; since I never change the view, I'd like to get rid of those buttons too. Error: Invalid authority

Hello, I searched the site and mailing list archive for this error with no results. In the XML Databases perspective, the Data Source Explorer panel returns, "Error: Invalid authority" when I attempt to explore by expanding any one of the Connections, after briefly showing, "Pending…"--these are the same Connections that execute successfully in every other perspective for transforming, querying, and debugging. The Database Source is type MarkLogic. Running Oxygen 11.2 on OS X 10.6.4. Please let me know if you need more information, or what I am doing wrong, thanks, Shannon

This should be valid. Hi Tim, W3C describes the content of a <svg> document in a schema-independent way. From what I know there are also XML Schemas which can be used to validate SVG files. Indeed the usual way to validate a SVG file is by using the DTDs but DTD as a grammar specification is not namespace aware and understands constructs like "xmlns:x" as usual attributes. Hi group I know this topic has been discussed before, so I'm sorry to bother you with this again. I've got non-breaking spaces in my topics (&nbsp) and when I generate XHTML output with oXygen XML Author, my build fails and I get the message: "The entity "nbsp" was referenced, but not declared." I get a "build successful" with oXygen XML Editor though, so I must have fixed it there in some way, but I cannot remember how anymore. I also searched the archives, but to no avail. Transform Scenarios for Archives

I have packaged my Word-to-DITA process as a Toolkit plugin. The input to this process is a DOCX file. My first instinct was to use Oxygen to apply the Toolkit to the DOCX file by setting up a transformation scenario, but then I saw that the Archive Browser doesn't provide its own transformation scenario option. Is it sensible for it to provide transformation scenarios? If it id, it would probably make sense to provide the option of controlling the unzipping of the archive. In my case the Ant process will do the unzipping, but it could be convenient to have Oxygen handle it. Toggle perspectives layout in 1 click

Hi group I've got two "perspective layouts": - One for the tech writer with tags shown and the relevant panels and toolbars open - One for the SME with tags hidden and only the DITA Maps Manager and the Elements and Attributes panels open. When I want to select the other perspectives layout, I have to do this in Options > Preferences, and then also click the Full Tags/No Tags button. Is there a way to do both actions in 1 click? Hi, I'm also having trouble with the New Document option in v12. In my line of work, I'm frequently (very frequently) using a new schema provided by a client or associate. Say I want to create a document using it. In v11, I had the choice of saying File/New and then selecting the schema in a dialogue. Unless I'm missing it, I can't do that any more. What's more, if I go ahead and create a blank XML document, I can't bind it to a schema until I have a document element. Sometimes I'll know in advance what the type of that element should be (along with namespace etc.) -- but not always. Maybe the capability of starting a new document with an arbitrary schema binding is right in front of me somewhere? Hi Khaled, For DITA publishing Oxygen just runs an external ANT process on the DITA Open Toolkit. You will have to make modifications to the ANT build files in order to copy additional non-DITA resources to the output folder. Then, if the resources are in the output folder they should be incorporated in the CHM. Hello oXygen users I had a problem getting the oXygen generated html documentation of XSL files to be copied to output folder, being referenced from a link element within a glossentry topic. I got over this by placing the shared resources in a folder that's external to both dita source and output. When transforming to chm, the html file referenced was not compiled and hence could not be displayed in html help. Is there any oXygen transformatio nmenu parameter that could be set (or added to be set) to enable chm to compile html resources that are external to the transformation output folder? Making the XInclude switch more accessible

Hi, As you know I've been using XInclude more intensively for a couple of projects. I'm grateful for oXygen's settings, including the setting to switch XInclude on and off per project. However, sometimes one wants to turn it on or off even more readily, for example before running a transformation or Schematron validation. Since the settings are fairly deep in the XML/XML Parser pane of Options/Preferences, this is a bit hard to do (and to instruct others to do). What would be great would be buttons to control this, and/or menu options, available at the top level. Maybe those are already there and I just haven't found them? Any ideas?
