Hello! When running DITA-OT transformation scenarios in oxygen, some oxygen specific jar's are automatically added to the command. One of them, oxygen.jar is putting some requirements on what versions of other libraries can be used. This causes issues when running an personal version of DITA-OT if I want to use the libraries included with DITA-OT. Oxygen 10.3: xercexImpl.jar needs to be of version 2.9.1. Using xerces 2.9.0 (the version that comes with DITA-OT 1.5M20) throws the error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/xerces/util/ XMLLocatorWrapper Copying the command to shell and removing the lib include for oxygen.jar makes it work with the older version of xercesImpl.jar. Oxygen 11 Beta: oxygen.jar causes external DITA-OT to fail on (I haven't had time to track down this problem any further.): gen-list-without-flagging: [pipeline] Using XERCES. Oxygen 11: Topicrefs to keys not resolving in the editor

I have a map with this pattern: <map> <topicgroup> <keydef keys="key-01" href="sometopic.dita"/> </topicgroup> <topichead navtitle="ToC"> <topicref keyref="key-01"/> </topichead> </map> The keydef is processed correctly and a topic that uses that key when the map is the selected map resolves. However, in the Map Manager, the second topicref is not resolved. Topicrefs can use keyref. In addition, key references are recursive, so you can have any number of intermediate key references before you get to the ultimate target of the original ref (limited only by stack space and patience). oXygen 11 beta + Calumet XProc engine

I am trying to use our Calumet XProc processor (http://developer.emc.com/xmltech) with oXygen 11 beta, but can't get the integration to work. This is what I tried: 1. I created an XProc Engine configuration ("Calumet") with the following command-line: [calumet-dir]/bin/calumet -i source=${cf} [calumet-dir]/bin/identity.xpl (This command line should just echo the source document to stdout.) The other options in the dialog I left unchanged. 2. I created a new transformation scenario and selected "Calumet" as the XProc processor. The other options in the dialog I left unchanged. However, when I apply the transformation, I always get the following error: SystemID: /home/vojtech/pipeline.xpl Engine name: Calumet Severity: error Description: Null or not stream result. Any ideas what may be going wrong? How exactly is the "XProc URL" setting used in the transformation scenario? I was also wondering if oXygen would be interested in providing a similar type of integration with Calumet as you have for Calabash? If so, I can definitely provide assistance with that. Here it is a list with the most important changes: XProc support ============= The XProc support includes editing, validation and execution through XProc scenarios. oXygen bundles Calabash as built in engine but additional custom XProc processors can also be configured. The Author mode presents a nice visual rendering of the XProc scripts. XSLT documentation ================== oXygen generates documentation for XSLT stylesheets in XHTML format by inspecting the stylesheets and determining what components they contain and where they are used. User supplied description can be specified either in the form of XML comments or in a simple language for which oXygen provides easy editing support though special actions for inserting documentation and through content completion. User defined documentation languages can also be used but the rendering stylesheets need to be updated to handle their conversion to XHTML. XQuery Debugger for the Berkeley DB XML database ================================================ The debugging interface of Berkeley DB 2.5 database was integrated with the XQuery Debugger of oXygen. Stack overflow in Oxygen 10

A colleague and I are seeing a number of stack overflow errors in Oxygen 10 (XML Editor 10.3, build 2009070117). These occur when validating quite small XML files with relatively simple schemas. The only complexity present is that the schemas definitions are spread out over a number of files, perhaps a half dozen in all. Increasing the stack size via the Xss option seems to bring limited relief. My colleague had increased the stack size to 8192 and is still seeing stack overflows, generally followed by Oxygen freezing. These same files and schemas validated fine in Oxygen 9 with the default stack size settings. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark Baker

Oxygen 11: Creating Key Definitions

I didn't see any specific UI for creating key definitions. I had expected to see either a "keys" field in the main "Edit topic reference" dialog or a separate "Insert key definition" option on the context menu/dita map menu that currently provides the "insert topicref", "insert topichead", "insert topic group" options. I don't think anything more than a single field is needed, although a list control might be more appropriate since the the value of "keys" is a blank-delimited list of keys. [Apologies if this is a repeat -- I haven't done a good search of the archives, etc.] I often use "<" and ">" to indicate that a word is the name of an XML element type. I even do this in diagnostic and error messages. E.g.: <xsl:message>I found a <duck> element</xsl:message> In oXygen, the message that is output to the Messages tab has the less than and greater than escaped as entity references: [Saxon6.5.5] I found a <duck> element. Same is true for messages generated from Schematron validation. I realize that at one point in life those messages were in XML documents (e.g., SVRL), but I'd really like to *see* pointy brackets. Is there or could there be an option to display these as characters instead of entity references? Thanks for listening.

Good morning! I need to pass some parameters to a stylesheet. I can do that on the command line, but it would be very handy to do in oXygen's XSLT debugger. Is it possible to do that? $ java -jar saxon9.jar lang=en,fr,pt file.xml stylesheet.xsl > output.xml My stylesheet contains the line <xsl:param name="lang" /> It would be also fine, for testing purposes, to include already in the stylesheet or the input xml file. How to Recover from Attempt to Open Large XML File

I attempted to open a 20Meg file (an exported iTunes library). Even after setting the VM to 2014M, Oxygen effectively locks up trying to open the file. Since it's restoring its state on startup, there's no obvious way to break the cycle. How do I break the cycle? XRef Selection Dialog Doesn't Offer Current Doc as an Option

When I create a DITA xref using the insert-xref button, the target chooser dialog does not offer the current document as one of the options in the file pulldown list. It should always offer the current doc as an option, even if it defaults to the last document selected. Failing build with excluded topics

I do not have any zipping application open while this is happening. In fact, I'm pretty sure no other application has these files open except for Oxygen (at least to my knowledge) except for the Firefox browser (and occasionally I have Windows Explorer open to the output directory). In my opinion, what is happening is definitely the result of Oxygen doing something weird on my machine. Now that I know how to deal with it, it doesn't bother/scare me. I'm not sure what I'm asking here, so bear with me. I don't think the problem is related to my xml project but Oxygen itself. I'm processing a docbook 5 file with xincludes, a customization layer, a title.xsl. I'm using 1.7.5.2 to use the epub output. I'm using oxygen to generate the html output which I will then manually zip into an epub file. I've created a custom transform scenario to use a custom xsl (which references the epub/docbook.xsl file and includes a few parameters). This probably is not relevant. I have to specify the location of a directory for the epub output using a parameter. The project validates, and most of the time everything works fine. But sometimes I get a cryptic error message "access is denied". I get this message even if I have made no changes to any of the source. Sometimes deleting the output files will "fix" the problem. A few days ago I discovered that creating a new scenario entirely from scratch for my scenario will fix the problem. That leads me to believe that there is something wrong with the .xpr file itself. Why does this sort of thing occur and how can I prevent it? Is the solution simply to create a brand new project and add your source to it again? I'm on Vista 64. Thanks. I am sure that the application has write permissions for that directory. (Because as I said, most of the time, it is able to work just fine). Maybe there is a lock on a file by Oxygen or Windows Explorer. . What is > the full path that is obtained from the relative path from the error > message? As I said, I feel pretty sure that there is something about Oxygen that causes this to happen (because if I create the same transformation from scratch, I can usually get past the Access problem). I have stopped and restarted Oxygen when this state occurs. I have NOT found that starting the program will solve the problem. The only solution is creating a new but identical transformation. For example, I just now created a new project consisting of the same assets. the first time i ran the epub transform for docbook, things went fine. The second time (15 seconds later, without any changes!), I ran it again, with the same error message. It's an intermittent error and I can't find a situation that always reproduces it. But once it happens, the only way to resolve it is to create a new transformation. I created a new transform with the same exact stylesheet, and things worked fine. The only slightly weird thing about my project is that I'm having to re-generate a xsl file from a docbook template (outside of the project). But that shouldn't have an effect on what's happening. Another thing. When comparing the xpr files from the original project with the one I just created with the same files, I notice that the first xpr file contains a lot of info about transforms, whereas the second xpr does NOT contain any references to transforms. But the error message has occurred for both projects. I know this problem must have you scratching your heads.... One of my reasons for mentioning it here is to help any Oxygen user with the same problem. Null Pointer Exception

Automatic Update to Catalog List?

I have development projects that use catalogs to map unresolvable URLs for XSLT components to local locations. I of course add those catalogs manually. It occurs to me that it would be useful for other developers on these projects if I could automate the addition of the catalogs to Oxygen (e.g., via an Ant task). Is there an easy way to do this? Ok, the problem turned out to be unrelated to oxygen or docbook. I was using Firefox's firebug plugin to examine the code and css. I didn't realize that the html source shown by Firebug does not correspond exactly to the actual source. In this case, the code I copied came from the firebug debug window. docbook + xincludes + xref? removing xmlns:saxon attributes in output?

Hi, I have two problems with my chunked HTML output on a docbook 5 project. PROBLEM 1 If your project uses xincludes with docbook, is Oxygen supposed to validate the xref links? I just tried my first xref link and am getting validation errors for xml files containing xrefs even though the XSL for html chunking/epub chunking runs fine. (i.e., I can see the hyperlink in the html output). Only Oxgen gives a validation error. In er1.xml (which is a chapter) I have this line <para> See also <xref linkend="interlude1"/></para> In i1.xml (which is a chapter) , I have this <chapter xmlns="http://docbook.org/ns/docbook" version="5.0" xml:id="interlude1"> <title>Interlude Essay 1 <author> <personname>Robert Nagle</personname> </author> </title> <para> ..... </chapter> SystemID: I:\My Documents\xml\rj3\er1.xml Engine name: oNVDL Severity: error Description: IDREF "interlude1" without matching ID Start location: 253:49 PROBLEM 2. Speaking of help... I downloaded and installed 10.3 on my WinXP Pro machine the other day and discovered that the formatting in the online help files has gone, well, wild... Really big fonts of random sizes everywhere. Unfortunately, even though I'm one to boost fonts, these fonts are way too big to do any onscreen reading. Is this a glitch or a known problem? Hello! A college is having some issues in creating chm files from oxygen with using the DITA Scenarios. He's running oXygen 10.3 on Windows Vista Ultimate. When creating a scenario and converting, it fails on not finding the hhc.exe file in "C:\Program Files\Help Workshop\hhc.exe". This is completely correct, as hhc is located in "C:\Program Files\HTML Help Workshop\hhc.exe". The wrong path is automatically included by oXygen when running a dita transformation if the transtype is set to htmlhelp. The end of the call to dita-ot contains "-DHTMLHelpCompiler=C:\Program Files\Help Workshop\hhc.exe". DITA-OT throws an error message that it's not possible to reassign an already set property. hhc.dir is correctly set but HTMLHelpCompiler is overridden by the parameter from oxygen.
