Hi, Since upgrading to Oxygen 8.2 from 7.2 I've encountered a very annoying error with the XQuery editor. If I load an XQuery file, modify it, and then attempt to save it I get an error dialog stating simply "Save Failed:null". I'm running Oxygen as an Eclipse plugin. The Eclipse error log entry looks like eclipse.buildId=M20070212-1330 java.version=1.5.0_07 java.vendor=Apple Computer, Inc. BootLoader constants: OS=macosx, ARCH=x86, WS=carbon, NL=en_US Framework arguments: -keyring /Users/msa/.eclipse_keyring -showlocation Command-line arguments: -os macosx -ws carbon -keyring /Users/msa/.eclipse_keyring -consoleLog -showlocation Error Mon Jul 16 10:35:47 PDT 2007 Save Failed I have "Check errors on save" enabled. If I turn it off, I don't have this problem. If I validate the file before saving, I don't have this problem. The problem only occurs if I attempt to save the file without validating it first. XML Schema question

I have an XML Schema I'm trying to lock down (to do more validation for me). I have an element with a required attribute that I restrict as shown below. <xsd:element name="MyElement1"> <xsd:complexType> <xsd:sequence> <xsd:element name="Description" minOccurs="0" type="xsd:string"/> <xsd:element maxOccurs="unbounded" ref="MyElement2"/> <xsd:element maxOccurs="unbounded" ref="MyElement3"/> <xsd:element maxOccurs="unbounded" ref="MyElement4"/> </xsd:sequence> <xsd:attribute name="scope" use="required"> <xsd:simpleType> <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string"> <xsd:enumeration value="scope1"/> <xsd:enumeration value="scope2"/> <xsd:enumeration value="scope3"/> <xsd:enumeration value="scope4"/> </xsd:restriction> </xsd:simpleType> </xsd:attribute> </xsd:complexType> </xsd:element> What I want to do is have MyElement3 only allowable in a MyElement1 where scope == scope2 (for example). So have a rule on an element that restricts what element can contain it based on the attribute value. Is this possible? Any pointer to documentation doing something like this? Thanks!

Structuring xs:documentation?

Hi, I have tried several things for getting an .xsd annotation show a description list with no success: the (XHTML) tags are seemingly just stripped and the whole annotation is formatted as a single block when displayed as a tooltip. Has anybody had success with presenting an xs:annotation in a somewhat structured way in Oxygen 8.2? Thanks, -- David Kastrup

Setting up A Catalog

Hi, I'm trying out the editor and tried to use a custom XML Catalog for my project. Below is the catalog that i've careated: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE catalog PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD XML Catalogs V1.1//EN" "http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/entity/release/1.1/catalog.dtd"> <catalog xmlns="urn:oasis:names:tc:entity:xmlns:xml:catalog"> <systemSuffix systemIdSuffix="DTD_LG_XMLV24.DTD" uri="file:///D:/RND/Hachette/DTD/DTD_LG_XMLV24.DTD"/> <uriSuffix uriSuffix="DTD_LG_XMLV24.DTD" uri="file:///D:/RND/Hachette/DTD/DTD_LG_XMLV24.DTD"/> </catalog> I'm not familiar with catalogs so please bear with me. From my understanding this catalog will resolve my DOCTYPE declarations to find a local copy of my DTD. So if I have a <!DOCTYPE livre SYSTEM "DTD_LG_XMLV24.DTD"> in my declaration this will eventually map-out to file:///D:/RND/Hachette/DTD/DTD_LG_XMLV24.DTD. Right? I have added this catalog in the XML Catalog section in the preferences and already restarted the editor, but upon validation I still get a FileNotFoundException-D:\RND\Hachette\DTD_LG_XMLV24.DTD (The system cannot find the file specified). Validate schema programatically?

I have a RelaxNG schema I've created for use in one of my Java projects. The schema works the way I want it to, and I've created a couple of sample documents in oXygen that validate against it nicely. Now, I need to write a unit test to validate a test document. It appears that Java 1.5 does not directly support RelaxNG, so I can't use the method as described at http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/xml/validationxpath/ . Can I do command line validation of a document with oXygen? I'm assuming maybe a batch file that uses oXygen's libraries? Thanks.

Validating documents opened from eXist database

I am using the oXygen plugin for Eclipse. When I open a XML document normally, it uses the schema I've set up through the Default Schema Association, but when I open a document loaded from a connection to an eXist database, it doesn't seem to want to use that schema. Has anyone started looking into this yet? Both oXygen & SVN Client are broke. I've filed a bug report with Apple. I can post the stack trace here too. I'd like to get a beta or something as soon as possible to continue letting me use oXygen with 10.5.

Hello, there, I have the strange case that a xsl transformation output looks different between an application running in JDK1.4.2 and JDK 1.5.0. In fact there is a part of the output html structure missing. I need a way to simulate that in OxygenXML (Eclipse Plugin). What do I have to do for that? Kind regards, Kai
